The Bishop's Gardens are located in the historic center of the town of Blois, in Loir-et-Cher.
Laid out in terraces, they overlook the city and the Loire Valley. A popular place for locals and tourists alike, there is a garden of the Five Senses (dedicated to medicinal plants) but also a kiosk and playgrounds.
La Roseraie for its part was set up in 1991 on the lower terrace of the gardens. It has been designed to offer a wide variety of colors and flavors and priority has also been given to fragrant and repeating varieties. For the pleasure of walkers and lovers of roses, these are associated with grasses and sometimes falsely hidden in spaces delimited by beeches or apple trees. At the level of the central axis, a basin is surrounded by a collection of old roses.
The colors are carefully associated and we notice a rosebush specially created during the opening of the rose garden and called "Rosier de Blois".
A visit turns out to be a very pleasant and exotic parenthesis before returning to visit the city so rich in history and heritage.
The gardens are open all year round but the rose garden is only accessible from May 15 to September 30. Free entrance. Information on +33 2 54 90 33 32.
