Fort Paté

Monument in Blaye

Set on an island of six hectares on the Gironde estuary, off Blaye, strong Paté is a strong military classified historic monument and a World Heritage under the Vauban fortifications.

Built in the late seventeenth century on Vauban, Fort Paté was intended to protect Bordeaux and its port with the help of Fort Médoc and Citadel Blaye. Brick and stone, it is revealed in a circular shape with high walls more than ten meters. Over 300 m², the building consists of two parts and thirty deadly on the ground floor.

Property being sold, the site can be visited by the public.
