Things to see and do

If the city does not have Bischwiller outstanding monuments, it is home to no less than beautiful buildings showing the typical architecture of this region of France.

Walking through the old center of Bischwiller, it is possible to admire beautiful houses, like the old pharmacy of the princely court, which was registered under the Historic Monuments. Nearby, visitors can discover the Laub, a former town house fitted with market hall built in 1665. The latter welcomes its octagonal tower three bells ringing again regularly. She now serves as an annex to the new City Hall Bischwiller.

Churches abound in Bischwiller, like St. Augustine's Church, neo-classical style and built in 1837. Not far away, you can enjoy the Protestant church built in 1300 and remodeled in 1722, or the simultaneous church Hanoffen, a district of the city that hosts two different religious cults. Built in 1914 by the Alsatian Society of Spinning and weaving Jute, Notre Dame chapel was formerly dedicated to the Polish workers who were working in the factory. Since the early 2000s, it now houses the offices of the Greek Orthodox community.

The cultural center Claude Vigee, also called 3CV, offers many activities by office library, cinema and music school.

Bischwiller is a very lively city where events and other cultural events are not lacking.

Two markets are held throughout the year in Bischwiller, a food on Saturday morning from 8am to 12pm and a local market on Thursday, from 4pm to 8pm. The city also offers a traditional Christmas market during the month of December.

Like several cities in the North of Alsace, Bischwiller participates in the Festival Décalages. In this setting, it houses original and confusing theatrical performances.

Every two years, Bischwiller hosts its traditional festival of the Fifres in August. On this occasion, the city proposes to discover its traditions through the presence of musicians and mountebanks, workshops and historical events, or even shows.

In October, place at the Gothic festival, with the organization of different concerts to celebrate the feast of Halloween.
