The Tour de la Chèvre d'Or is a Roman funerary monument located in the plain of Brague, on the old Clausonnes path linking Biot to Vallauris. Placed on a hill, 700 meters southwest of the village, it probably dates from the first centuries of our era.
The tomb has been classified as a Historic Monument since September 2, 1943. It is a construction in a small regular device, pierced by an empty rectangular niche. In four rows, there are scaffolding holes. The tower measures nearly ten meters, but the study of the construction seems to show that it was once taller still.
So it is probably a mausoleum. Nearby, tombs and urns have been unearthed which contained objects from the Gallo-Roman period. However, no inscription can shed light on the mystery of its destination.
The name refers to a legend that ignited the imagination of Provence for centuries, a legend where it is about a goat, of course, but also and above all a fabulous treasure...
