• Heritage and culture:

• The harbor, from the great fishing - from Newfoundland to Iceland to the pleasure: Binic was recognized 1st largest French fishing port in Newfoundland in 1845 and 1847 with a flotilla of 37 vessels. The binicais sailors went fishing for cod, risking their lives in the cold waters of Iceland and Newfoundland. The epic of the Newfoundlanders is celebrated during the traditional feast of "Cod en fête", every year at Ascension. In the 1970s, it was the great adventure of shell fishing in the bay of Saint-Brieuc, one of the most productive deposits of French coasts. At the height of this period, there were a hundred shellfish anchored in Binic. This beautiful adventure will last about twenty years until the creation of the computerized auction of Saint-Quay-Portrieux in 1986. Today, the port of Binic-Étables-sur-mer has become one of the most important ports pleasure of the department.

• Pier Penthièvre: the perfect place to greet sailors for the last time on the departure. Long wall of granite of 350 m and high of more than 8 m, the jetty of Penthièvre closes the harbor and protects the boats of the easterly winds. It is rooted in the rocks of Porthenay and took 8 years of work until 1855. It is named after the Duke of Penthièvre who came to Binic in 1747.
• The seaside resort of Godelins: neighborhood with a true Belle Epoque identity, the Godelins were born at the beginning of 1900, thanks to the industrialist from Versailles, Oscar Legris, who built 18 villas. Each of them bears a feminine given name whose initial is in alphabetical order. These villas are of different sizes, but of identical design. It extends to the beach of the same name.
• Piracy: in the heart of the marine cemetery of Binic, the tomb of an unusual character, Louis Marie, corsair of his condition, is still visible today and thus, to see engraved on its slab the famous and formidable crossed skull of two shins. This amazing character died in his bed over 100 years old, a miracle for the time! The corsairs have long hidden a large part of their spoils they did not pay the king, which suggests that would still hide somewhere in the shelter of large buildings or unexplored recesses some treasures hidden in Binic!
• The Bernans: this natural area of ​​12 hectares offers magnificent panoramas on the bay of Saint-Brieuc. Hill accessible from the GR34 but also equipped for people with reduced mobility, the Bernains camp is an appointment for all in the heart of an exceptional site full of history. You will find there remains, probably of the Gallo-Roman time in particular, a stone wall with seven flared towers, one of which, called "Caesar's tower", would have served formerly as a lantern at the port of Binic.
• The viaduct of the Pourrhis: nestled in the heart of the Ponto Valley, this viaduct testifies to the history of the small train of the coast-north which took from 1905 to 1956 the "bathers" on their resort. It is the work of Louis Harel of Noah. Now rehabilitated and open to the crossing, the Ponto Valley offers multiple hiking trails to practice on foot, horseback or bicycle.
• Notre-Dame d'Esperance chapel: built in 1850 by the parishioners as an offering to the Virgin Mary after an epidemic of cholera, this chapel was for half a century the place of pilgrimage of the Newfoundlanders and fishermen in Iceland. The interior of the building houses many ex-votos.
• The Saint-Gilles chapel: Saint-Gilles chapel was once a stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Located in the city of Jacob in a bucolic and rural setting, this chapel is the scene of a pardon every first Sunday of September with Mass at 10:30, preceded by a procession at 10:15, from the ordeal. • The Belle Issue Park: in the 16th century, the Belle Issue Manor belongs to the Lestic family. In the following centuries, the manor changed owners. Mr. Touroux, notary royal, bought the Belle Issue in 1790. In the nineteenth, it is the daughter of Mr. François Touroux: Elisabeth le Breton, Marchioness of Chaussin, then Countess of the Brousse was the last owner. In 1921, the town buys the Belle Issue. The old manor no longer exists, the large house which becomes the town hall was built around 1830. The park that surrounds it was drawn in 1860, it was classified among the "sites and natural monuments of artistic character" in February 1922 for its magnificent trees unfortunately damaged by the storm of 1987.

• Five sandy beaches:

• La Banche, the largest, near the heart of Binic with saltwater pool and paddling pool (supervised swimming in July and August).
• The harbor front, framed by rocks, along the path of the customs officers (supervised swimming in July and August).
• The Godelins: by taking the road that leads to this beach, you will admire the villas early twenty-first century. The beach huts give a real charm to this place, well known to the Tagarins. Supervised from July 1st to August 31st.
• The Moulin beach: it is particularly suitable for families: its car parks are numerous and at the same level as the beach, which allows easy access by pushchair. • Hiking and cycling:

• The GR34 offers you nearly 10 km of trail along the sea, overlooking the bay of Saint-Brieuc. Hiking accompanied: every Friday in July and August at 16h from the Tourist Office, free.
• Mountain biking: 13 marked trails with different levels of elevation are available for both beginner and seasoned mountain bikers. These tours will take you safely from Binic-Etables-sur-Mer to Treveneuc through the countryside, from Lantic ponds to the Bois de la Salle.
