Today in ruins, the castle of Monismes is an old fortified castle from the 12th century transformed in the 15th century. Listed as a Historic Monument, it formerly consisted of a central building flanked by two circular towers and surrounded by ditches. During archaeological excavations in the moat Gothic sculptures were found.
Restored in the first half of the 18th century, the Château de Monismes was subsequently sold during the Revolution, before being demolished in the 19th century. Visitors can still admire from the side of the road, the ruins not being accessible to the public, the remains of a tower as well as the moat.
