Pleasant town of Allier, region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bessay-sur-Allier takes place about twenty kilometers from Moulins, on the edge of Toulon-sur-Allier, Neuilly-le-Réal or Gouise. The town is located on the right bank of the Allier, in the heart of the Sologne Bourbonnais.
Populated since Gallo-Roman times, Bessay-sur-Allier was then a popular oppidum. However, it was not until the Middle Ages that the town is actually developing, gradually taking the appearance it has today. Long agricultural and craft city, it is now a resort popular for its proximity to the most beautiful cities in the region, but also for its modest architectural and historical heritage.
The natural setting of Bessay-sur-Allier, to find time to family hikes or friends, is also one of the main assets of the city.
