Town in Upper Corsica, Belgodère is a village of about 500 inhabitants of the district of Calvi. Situated in Balagne, it has a coastline on the Mediterranean Sea, and a large sandy beach.
Vestiges of ancient monuments testify to the medieval history of Belgodère, while the impressive landscape of the surrounding area offer the possibility to make beautiful excursions in the island. The hamlet of Losari, part of Belgodère, offers visitors the sight of a breathtaking beach and accessible to all.

If Belgodère village is small, it nevertheless has some beautiful historical and architectural remains.
Located on the hill A Costa, the Malaspina Castle was built in 1892. Open to the public since the late nineteenth century, the garden includes an orchard, a terrace, concierge services, and superb white Carrara marble chapel. This public garden was taken to the pre-inventory of remarkable gardens by the Ministry of Culture, in the late 90s.
The Church of St. Thomas was built between 1560 and 1792 on the site of a former church. Restored in the second half of the nineteenth century, it was listed as an historic monument. Inside, one can admire a baroque architecture domes and various works classified, like a wooden statue of a crucified Christ, a carved marble group representing the Virgin of Assumption surrounded by angels, or an altar reredos.
The San Giovanni chapel of the former Brotherhood of the Holy Sacrament, built in the eighteenth century, also has classified works.
E Teghje tower, or rather its remains of the sixteenth century, dominate the village. Alongside its belvedere, you can admire a beautiful statue of the Virgin. Situated on a promontory 26 meters above the sea, the Genoese tower overlooking the beach Losari Losari today.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lozari, who recently recovered his bell, has been beautifully restored in 2013, while visitors can discover in the village the marble chapel of the castle of La Costa, the ruins of the former convent Servite, or the oratory of the Madunuccia XIV century.
The beach of fine sand Losari can enjoy all the pleasures of the sea, relaxing water activities, with incredible views of the Mediterranean.
Belgodère no shortage of tourist attractions, thanks to the various activities offered in summer.
A farmers market takes place to Balagne the summer until mid-November, on Sunday morning.
On 17 January, the village celebrates its patronal feast, the Sant'Antone abbate, including blessings in the church.
Since 2009, the village offers Belgodère contam festival during the Easter holidays. This festival is turned on oral tradition and the important link between the old and the children through performances, evenings, or workshops.
The third Sunday of September, Belgodère organizes communal celebration with the program, dance, music, and other boisterous meal.
