Beauzac

Built in the twelfth century, the church of St. John was partially changed in the seventeenth century. Located in the heart of the old town, it is now classified as an historic monument. Originally an outbuilding of Monastier Abbey, it has a three-storey bell tower and flamboyant Gothic windows. The Romanesque choir houses exceptionally an eleventh century crypt.

It also built in the twelfth century, the chapel of Fraisse takes place two kilometers from the bridge Vaure. Listed as a Historic Monument, it was originally part of an agricultural estate consisting of a house, a barn, a church and a cemetery. Romanesque style, it has a main ogive door surmounted by three Romanesque turrets. Partly destroyed during the French Revolution, it has experienced several restoration campaigns over the twentieth century.

The remains of the old feudal castle and its ramparts are still visible on the territory of the town.

Nature lovers will appreciate the valley of the Ance or the path of the Loire to Beauzac on the edge of the cliff.

• On August 14 and 15, Vaures proposes a party with balls and a petanque contest.
