In the heart of the Haut Verdon valley, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, stands proudly the village of Beauvezer. Set on a hill in a verdant nature, it is located in the arrondissement of Castellane, about fifteen kilometers from Allos and its ski resort.
Located at almost 1,200 meters above sea level, Beauvezer takes its name from Occitan, bèl and vezer, meaning Bel aspect. Populated since antiquity, it developed in the Middle Ages before suffering severe damage during the wars of religion. It is in the nineteenth century that the small commune is experiencing a major economic boom with the installation of textile industries dedicated to the weaving of wool and which will remain until the middle of the twentieth century.
Classified as a climatic resort, the Provençal town is today appreciated for its architectural heritage as well as for its surrounding landscapes. The views of the mountains make it a magical place to spend a holiday in the calm and the open air.
