Barjac, quoted Renaissance...

Between the gorges of Cèze and Ardèche, Barjac is a balcony overlooking the Cevennes. He served as a framework for film by Jean-Paul Jaud "NENA" (Our children will accuse) which gives the example of the restoration "bio" of children and the elderly.

Environmental and health issues are at the heart of municipal politics: bio menus to the central kitchen, no use of pesticides on the town, experimental project with earth links to the installation of young organic farmers' barn des Prés ". As part of the national campaign "Zero phyto, 100% organic" Barjac was awarded: 1st prize bio common and common organic without pesticides.

This town surrounded by beautiful villages "gardéchois" offers walks in the woods of Ronze to exceptional Neolithic remains. The atmosphere does not exclude rustic shops, medical services and the many events that make the quality of life of the Renaissance city.

Rated "Village Character" Barjac present a renovated heritage of streets, squares, houses and esplanades, perfectly suited to receive the International Antiques Fair at Easter and August 15, and bullfighting events (1st weekend of August), parties (carnival, votive festival in July) and sports (Helviens circuit in May).

The landscape "Tuscan" gardened by enterprising farmers with a nearby wild scrubland that is shared between hunters, hikers, cavers and sports at large.

Castle of the Counts of Roure became City Hall and "cultural hub" with movie every Friday, bright library, schools of dance, music, visual art. Art exhibitions and festival "word of Songs" (July) animate.
