Listed as a Historic Monument, the Château de Mareuil was erected in the middle of the 18th century by Jean-Baptiste-Nicolas Thomas de Pange, who received the seigneury of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ as a wedding gift. He then had a first residence built in the Louis XV style, before adding red brick facings a few years later.
Built according to the plans of the architect Chevotet, the Château de Mareuil presents a decor using brick for the chaining and the frames of the windows. It also reveals outbuildings with a U-shaped plan dedicated to the manufacture of champagne and a north wing transformed at the end of the 19th century.
Inside, it is possible to admire very beautiful decorated lounges, as well as champagne cellars.
The building is framed by two wall-enclosed vegetable gardens from the end of the 18th century. Redesigned at the end of the 19th century, the park still reveals an icehouse and an orangery.
