The village of Ault (ch'bourqu'éd'Eut, in Picard) has an exceptional geographical location. On the edge of the cliffs of the Normandy Alabaster Coast, with its valley protected by the Bois de Cise, a veritable green setting overlooking the English Channel, it is in Onival, with its sandy beach at low tide that begins, with the Côte d 'opal, the Hâble d'Ault and, indeed, the ancient Baie de Somme.
The story of Ault is that of man's relentless struggle against the elements. Forced to retreat in the face of the devastating waves of centuries, sailors became locksmiths, fishermen became metallurgists or traders. Ault, today, has the exemplary richness of its landscape. Tourist activity has the privilege of not being "relocatable". That is why everything must be tried to revive and revitalize the site. The municipality, the tourist office, artisans and traders, associations are working on it.
Exceptionally located between Normandy and Picardy, between land and sea, between the cliffs of Petit Caux and the majestic Baie de Somme, Ault - Onival - the Bois de Cise offer travelers eager for unspoiled nature the vastness of the Picardy sky.
