Small town in the North, Aubencheul-au-Bac takes place about fifty kilometers from Lille, not far from Fressies, Bugnicourt and Féchain.
Mentioned from the 11th century, the commune of Aubencheul-au-Bac was attached to Artois from the 12th century. Known for its Cistercian abbey founded by the Count of Oisy, it was for a long time an important agricultural site (rapeseed, flax...). Its basement was also exploited for sandstone and peat.
Today, this city with its traditional architecture typical of northern France attracts visitors for its pleasant setting and its proximity to some of the most beautiful sites in the region.
