Village of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, facing the Pyrenees, Arthez-de Béarn overlooks the valley of the Gave de Pau between Orthez and Lacq. Located in the former sovereign state of Béarn, it is not far from Balansun, Labeyrie and Serres-Sainte-Marie.
Originally a simple hamlet, Arthez-de-Béarn is transformed into a real medieval fortress in the 14th century under the impetus of Gaston Fébus. Seriously damaged by the wars of religion, the village then develops peacefully, taking gradually the face that one knows him today.
Ideally located to discover the most beautiful sights of the region, the town reveals an interesting architectural and historical heritage to discover the time of a stay in this part of southern France.
