Castle of Balincourt

Monument in Arronville

Located in the town of Arronville, in Val-d'Oise, the Château de Balincourt is one of the jewels of French Vexin. Built by the architect Denis-Claude Liégeon in the second half of the 18th century, it now benefits from an entry in the additional inventory of Historical Monuments.

Reworked several times in the 20th century, the building presents an elegant classical style architecture to which were added elements of the antique style in the 1920s. The main body has seven bays and two floors, the second of which is attic. The facade on the main courtyard has a projecting peristyle whose capitals of Ionic columns are inspired by the temple of Athena in Priene. The whole is flanked by two wings in return of square around the main courtyard.

Near the castle, it is also possible to admire the orangery before discovering the incredible garden with its canal, its flowerbeds, its Gothic tower, its Moorish loggia or its false ruin.
