Opened in 1932 and currently closed to the public until complete renovation, the museum Argenteuil takes place in the heart of Val-d'Oise, unveiling important collections related to the local history of the city.
Through paintings, drawings, documents or other objects, it is possible to discover in the first space the transition between the rural and wine-growing town and the industrial city that we know today. The other part of the site is related to prehistory and archaeological sites of the Middle Ages. A few years ago, the museum of Argenteuil added to these presentations objects from the Museum of Resistance and Deportation.
For the duration of the works, some of the museum's properties are visible on loan at the Musée d'Orsay, the Pissarro Museum in Pontoise, or at the Saint-Denis Museum of Art and History.
