Argeliers

Partially listed as a Historic Monument in the 1950s for its fireplace on the first floor, the castle of Argeliers is mentioned from the middle of the 12th century. Heavily affected by the wars of religion, it was largely rebuilt at the beginning of the 17th century. Property of the monks of Quarante until the Revolution, the building still reveals today a square tower and old surrounding walls.

When passing through the town, don't forget to take a trip to the Saint-Vincent church.

A Cabezac, Oulibo the cooperative, founded in 1942, is currently the only cooperative of olive oil in the Aude department. After the freeze of 1956 that decimated the French olive, the Oulibo continued to perpetuate the culture of the olive tree in the Aude. It receives three olive departments: Aude, Hérault, Pyrénées-Orientales. The fruit oil, discover the work of the growers, the miller ... and follow all stages of processing, even in the shop for producers.
