Ardoix

The Ardoix church is quite large and has very thick walls in neo-Romanesque style. If we do not know its exact date of construction, it has been proven that the building was largely renovated in the course of the eighteenth century. It is today an important place of pilgrimage to Saint John the Baptist through relics brought back from Rome. Its square steeple, high and thin, was moved and rebuilt in the 1950s for the expansion of the departmental.

The town has several castles, as well as two beautiful farms, Manoha, which was first a Gallo-Roman farm, and Munas. These buildings have been reinforced over the centuries with many defensive elements such as towers, battlements, loopholes and other reinforcements.

Opened in the early 2010s, the mini farm in the park Clairière reveals three hectares with social animals such as rabbits, lambs, donkeys or ponies. The site also presents a reconstitution of an early twentieth century farmhouse, a collection of old tools, and a playground under the trees. The youngest and their parents can learn about twenty old games large.

In July and August, visitors can enjoy old horse-drawn carriage rides from the Place du Souvenir.

An accompanied and commented hike is organized around Ardoix at the end of August.

In September, the village offers a very popular cycling prize.
