Bourg d'Ardèche nestled at nearly 400 meters above sea level, Ardoix takes place fourteen kilometers from Annonay, not far from the Rhone Valley. It is located at the end of the north Ardèche plateau, at the limits of Quintenas, Saint-Romain-d'Ay and Talencieux.
Probably occupied since Roman times, the territory of Ardoix also presents the presence of 6th century tombs in the old cemetery. The town then developed in the course of the Middle Ages, before gradually taking the face that we know today. The establishment of textile factories in the course of the nineteenth century also gives it a certain economic boom. From that time, there still exists today a company specialized in technical fabrics.
Full of charm, the city of Ardoix still presents an interesting architectural heritage to find time for a walk in the village.
