Anost

As part of the network of the Ecomuseum Morvan, the House of Galvachers and the Oral Heritage House are not lacking interest. Created in the mid-1990s, the first retraces the story of galvachers, migrant farmers who roamed the regions of Morvan between May and October.

A stay in Anost is also an opportunity to admire beautiful old houses, like the castle of La Ferrière of the thirteenth century, the fortified house of Vaumignon, the manor of Bussy or the ruins of the castle of Roussillon ruined in the 15th century by the Armagnacs.

Located in the heights of the village, Notre-Dame de l'Aillant is an impressive statue of the Virgin and Child of 850 kg and three meters high. Do not miss to discover the Saint-Germain church with its relics of Jehan and Isabeau de Roussillon or the chapel of St. Claire de Velée. Built in the eleventh century, the latter retains elements listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, as well as beautiful murals.

In the surroundings, there are several marked hiking trails in the forest, accessible on foot, horseback or mountain bike. Several fishing sites are also accessible for fans of the area.

• On the occasion of the Heritage Days, in September, the House of Oral Heritage proposes the festival Music of the Language.

• This event for the general public at the Salle des Fêtes in Anost focuses on the sensory aspects of nightfall, aptly named "l'heure bleue". It's an opportunity to get your eyes used to the dark, as well as all your other senses, to become invisible and silent, and to pay attention to what's going on around you. Interactive devices invite, involve and question. - From one stage to the next, participants, organised in teams, move around and discover a set of questions that appeal to all their senses : hearing, smell, touch, sight and, as the world of night is full of surprises, come and discover biofluorescence !

• Not far from there, the lake Settons is the privileged site of water activities for all, walks, fishing and gastronomic specialties. On the road to Vézelay, it is a stage for a day trip through the Morvan.
