Located in the town of Annecy, in Haute-Savoie, the Chateau de Chateauvieux spans almost a peninsula separating the lake in two. Former stronghold of the thirteenth century listed historical monument, the site has undergone many changes, especially in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Dominated by a cylindrical tower with terrace crenellated battlements of the castle Chateauvieux has in its inside eighteenth-century salons decorated with wood paneling and Italian paintings. From the original building, visitors can also enjoy a tower pierced with loopholes.
Full of charm, the site has inspired many famous artists over the years, like Cezanne or Serralongue.
