Andrésy is located in the Ile-de-France, less than thirty miles west of Paris (Champs-Elysées are at 25 minutes by train from Gare de Conflans-Fin-d'Oise). The main cities are near Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Poissy and Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Versailles and its castle are about half an hour by car.

The location of the city of Andrésy at the confluence of the Seine and the Oise, he received in the past included as home port for a fleet of Roman war, commissioned by Julius Caesar to monitor Lutece, to hence its name (then "Anderitum"). Things to see and do

Andrésy is full of unmissable attractions that constitute the heritage of the town. A hiking trail allows you to explore the monuments, but also the charms of the city that make Andrésy "a vibrant city where life is good".

Saint-Germain-de-Paris church (13th - 16th century): Listed as a historical monument, it contains magnificent Renaissance stained glass windows, a recently restored organ and famous and classified painting paintings, including that of Lubin Baugin: "Adoration Shepherds "(twelfth).

The covered market: Located on the promenade of Dr. Giffard, along the banks. Many local shops are available to Andrésiens in the city center, but also to the Charvaux shopping center, in the Fin-d'Oise district and in the Gare sector.

The villa of Tilleuls: It is only in 1948 that the "Villa des Tilleuls" became the Town Hall. Previously, it was in the building Saint-Exupéry, which now houses the municipal library, the school of music and dance Ivry-Gitlis and the direction of cultural life.

The cross of stone: called "Merovingian" (eleventh century), the stone cross is erected in the old cemetery. Also classified as a historical monument, it was discovered during the excavation of the railway line linking Paris to Mantes in 1892.

The memorial stele erected as a tribute to the six British airmen, including the bomber hit by the German DCA who crashed in the forest of Hautil, April 02, 1942.

The Denouval Mansion, where young children of deported parents were welcomed during the Second World War. A plaque commemorates this event.

Points of view: The most remarkable point of view is on the RD 55 avenue Victor-Schoelcher. Thanks to an orientation table, discover the confluence of the Seine and the Oise with on the horizon and in high point, a superb view on the Defense, the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Coeur and the Mont Valerian. The fishway: First work of restoration of the migratory fish circulation built by the Voies Navigables de France on the Seine downstream of Paris, the fish pass has been the subject of a landscaping whose work has ended in the spring of 2010.

For your walks, do not hesitate to stroll along the banks of the Seine (closed to traffic on Sundays and public holidays), to visit the Île Nancy, a natural park where wildlife, flora and the fish pass are shared. with his educational path.
