Dominated by its medieval village from where hiking trails through landscapes of olive, truffle oaks and lavender, Allan offers an exceptional view of the Rhone Valley.
Crowned by the ruins of the ancient village, completely abandoned in the late nineteenth century to the site formerly known as "La Bégude", the town of Allan located 6 km south-east of Montelimar, covers 28.8 square kilometers and has more than 1,700 inhabitants.
The Commune's territory is divided between a plain, in the West, where agricultural activity remained viticulture (AOC Grignan the Adhemar) - arboriculture - seeds and wooded hills to the east, served natural areas with many paths suitable for recreational activities.
The "Bourg center", was the subject of beautification work in the last 15 years, and offers many services and shops. Several subdivisions and small collectives allowed to welcome new inhabitants, the public school has been recently expanded to accommodate the new students. Associative activity is intense, and participates in the maintenance of social and economic life of quality.
Many rooms and bed and breakfasts offer quality accommodation. Artisans, private wineries, art workshops, equestrian centers welcome visitors and vacationers.
Perched on a hill, the old town, inscribed in the inventory of historical monuments, offers panoramic views of the Rhone valley and offers visitors a journey through time from the eleventh to the nineteenth century in a hilltop village. This site is enhanced by the association Allan Stones and memory, which offers tours during the summer. The ruins of the chapel Barbara, Historic Monument in 1924, located east of the village are also worth a detour.
