At the heart of Ajaccio, Maison Bonaparte is an opportunity to learn a little more about the famous emperor and his family. It is indeed in this building that Napoleon was born on August 15, 1769.
Having become a museum, the Maison Bonaparte reveals to its visitors furniture, paintings and decorations which will immerse them in the period of the end of the 18th century. From the second floor devoted to the parents of Napoleon I and his youth, to the first floor revealing salons decorated under Napoleon III and furniture purchased by Letizia, the emperor's mother, we immerse ourselves in the Napoleonic legend. The visit to the Maison Bonaparte ends with the cellars filled with agricultural objects referring to the landowner past of the Bonapartes.
Listed as a Historic Monument, it is also a fine example of a 19th century Corsican patrician residence.
