Etymology: The ancient form of the name Acheux : ACEU, Ashu ( founding charter of the abbey of Corbie ) comes from the Celtic Achad which means " cultivated field."
The village of Acheux is of ancient origin. There was the time of the Roman conquest. The Romans established a fortress surrounded by towers and fortifications to protect himself from the attacks of Atrébates ( people of Gaul in Artois, which gave its name to Arras).
