Château de Roches-Sur-Rognon

Les hotes sont charmants et très professionnels, l'environnement est somptueux ainsi que les pièces du château. Le diner et le petit déjeuner parfaits.

Ce château est un palais. Nous avons eu l'impression de prendre le petit déjeuner à Versailles, et ses propriétaires ne pouvaient pas être plus sympa-thétiques et accueillants. La chambre et la salle de bains étaient splendide aussi, avec une vue magnifique sur le parc. Nous repasserons sans hésiter si nous nous retrouvons dans les alentours un jour, et le recommandons sans aucune réserve !

Nous etions tres contents, une magnifique maison (chateau) - Les proprietaires etaient tres gentilles, Le diner prepare par monsieur excellent. Nous esperons de revenir.

Tout était parfait : château magnifiquement restauré, parc immense au calme, chambres spacieuses et très confortables, salle de bain gigantesque, accueil chaleureux et service digne des plus grands !

Il y a très longtemps, j'habitais cette maison et souhaitais y retourner pour la montrer à ma famille. J'ai été très impressionnée par la façon dont les propriétaires se sont investis dans sa restauration et son histoire. Ils ont magnifiquement redecoré les pièces de réception (luminaires, draperies, tissus tendus sur les murs...) La table du petit déjeuner était digne de celle d'un grand hôtel (nappe blanche, panier de croissants, jus d'orange, choix de boissons chaudes). Ils sont une source inépuisable de renseignements sur la région et nous ont escorté dans le parc jusqu'à la rivière. Je ne saurais trop recommander le séjour, ne serait-ce que pour la gentillesse des hôtes. C'est aussi un endroit idéal pour des familles en raison du parc où les enfants peuvent courir.

Une demeure magnifique, dans un cadre de verdure unique. Monsieur et Madame Lugnier, font montre, d'une attention et d'une grande amabilité envers leurs hôtes. La prochaine fois, que nous irons en Haute-Marne, nous retournerons dans ce superbe Château.

Wij hebben ongelooflijk genoten van ons 2 daags verblijf. We waren aangenaam verrast door de kamers en badkamer en gans het interieur van het kasteel. Ontbijt en avondeten waren zeer lekker en niet vergeten de wijnen (niet duur). Het domein was zeer mooi. Het ontvangst was hartelijk, zeer vriendelijke eigenaars. Is ook rustig gelegen. Voor herhaling vatbaar !

Accueil fort chaleureux. Lieu très reposant, très proche de la nature. Ambiance historique omniprésente. Un seul regret : on aurait aimé rencontrer quelques fantômes !.

Très bon accueil, tres bien diner la deuxieme soiree, discret, propre avec soin pour detail, tres bon lit et haut qualité.

Marie-Therese and Bernard who own and run this chateau were very friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to a beautiful, very spacious double room with a massive bathroom but the toilet was across the hall which wasn't very convenient. The towels and bathrobes provided weren't very luxurious. We were the only people staying there and stayed for 2 nights. The breakfast was quite limited - bread and jam and yoghurt. It would have been nice to have been offered some fruit. We booked a gourmet meal on the 2nd night - the food was very good. We were offered champagne and wine but no price was mentioned. It was only when we went to pay the bill when we left that Marie-Therese presented us with an extra charge of 55 € for the bottle of Drappier champagne and a further 17 € for the bottle of wine. No evidence of the cost was provided - we found the champagne online for 30 € and there was no label on the wine so we did feel overcharged. Their English was extremely limited. It was a good location for a stopover on our way to the Ardeche and we did a day of cycling along the canal which was very quiet.

If you're in for a real chateau-experience, you will find your stay at Chateau de Rognon an excellent choice. A hearty welcome, very fine dining and a beautiful environment, all this to be enjoyed in real time modus, for once not from behind a fencing along a guided tour. The region Haute Marne, however not touristically marketed, has plenty on offer for those who seek calm and nature. A boattrip on the canal from Champagne to Bourgogne with many ecluses but without the crowds of the canal du midi. Well maintained bicycle paths all along the canal, tours on trainbicycles through the region and beautiful places to visit such as Vignory and Langres. The former, charming in its simplicity, the latter one, exuberant in its grandeur, perched high on the plains. If you're on your way to the south, don't hesitate to stop over at the Chateau for a few nights and savour this lesser known part of France which has so much to offer.

This was quite an experience! We have never expected to find a place in a country such as France, where you can be so away from it all! Lovely historical building, which is being restored slowly but surely in an original style by it owners. The owners, Bernard and Marie-Theresa are the most gracious hosts! They took care of us like we were family. Communication was a challenge as neither me nor my husband spoke any French, but between the single words we did now, and some German and English we managed nicely! And something to be said about food that we had: wow! We chose to have dinner 2 times at the house and both times were served gourmet meals to rival any fine restaurant. For the other three evenings we have dined in restaurants in the area, which are also very very good! Overall, highly recommended! Thank you, Bernard and Marie-Therese, it was really great to visit you at your fantastic place!

What a wonderful place, the owners Bernard & Marie Therese Lugnier and their family made us feel like family and were very accommodating. The rooms, beds and overall facilities were perfect for the period the chateau represents while our meals, wine and service was exemplorary. The home made apple juice cannot be compared to any other I have tasted and I would recommend to families, couples or any discerning travel to spend a night or 2 at Roches-Sur-Rognon.

A delightful and comfortable house. Spacious rooms. Beautiful grounds. Dinner on both occasions was excellent, served in splendid surroundings and we breakfasted on fresh bread and croissants with home made preserves. Our children and dogs were made very welcome. The hosts could not have done more to help and were charming.

Ambientazione suggestiva con atmosfera di antica nobilta' in un contesto piacevolmente agreste. Proprietari gentilissimi, corretti e premurosi. Cena e colazione all' altezza delle aspettative, disponibilita' di spazi eccellente in edificio con interni di pregio. Unico suggerimento aggiungere nell' ampio spazio dedicato alla sala da bagno anche un ulteriore servizio igienico.

Schönes Haus in einem grossen Park; schöne grosse Zimmer; grosses Badezimmer.

Der Aufenthalt bei Marie-Thérèse und Bernard, unser erstes chambre d'hôtes auf unserer dreiwöchigen Fahrradtour durch Frankreich, war eine einzigartige Erfahrung. Unsere aufmerksamen, freund(schaft) lichen und diskreten Gastgeber haben uns mit einem exzellenten Abendessen und einem opulenten Frühstück (Spiegeleier mit Speck!!! In Frankreich!!!) verwöhnt und ihr wunderschönes und stilvolles Anwesen samt seinem umwerfenden Park mit uns geteilt. Leider konnten wir nur eine Nacht dort verbringen - aber wir kommen wieder. Ganz bestimmt ! In diesem Teil Frankreichs wird man nur schwer eine bessere Adresse finden.

Wir haben auf unserer Radtour durch die Champagne eine Nacht auf dem Schloss der Familie Lugnier verbracht. Vom Empfang bis zum Abschied wurden wir sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich verwöhnt! Das Menu, inkl. Spezialteller für unseren Vegetarier wurde von M. et Mme. Lugnier frisch zubereitet und hat den Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht, ebenso wie die ruhige Ungebung und die stilvoll, mit viel Liebe zum Detail renovierten Räume. Wir kommen wieder!

Zeer warm onthaal, prachtige kamers, mooie tuin, heel lekker eten, …kortom: een aanrader!

Wij hebben een prima tijd gehad. Wel een beetje gedateerd, maar dat ook heel veel sfeer met zich meegebracht. Pluspunt: geweldig diner in een prachtige kamer met een joekel van tafel. Je voelt je echt een kasteelheer. Prachtige wijnen van € 25. Wij hadden geluk, want het was prima weer waardoor we lekker in de fantastische tuin konden zitten. Minpunt: geen toilet op de kamer. Niet fijn als je er in de nacht uit moet.

Heel fijne ontvangst, mooie verzorgde kamers, zeer lekker verzorgd diner, goed ontbijt, heel lieve mensen, zeer leuke gesprekspartners. Wij komen terug!

Een schitterende locatie in een prachtige groene omgeving, met schitterende ruime suites. De gastvrouw zorgde voor de perfecte omkadering in een warm en gezellig interieur. Het aperitief werd buiten op het terras geserveerd en Joviale gastheer zorgde voor een gastronomisch dinner. Kortom een ommetje waard.

We werden allerhartelijkst ontvangen door de eigenaresse van het chateau. Nadat ze ons de schitterende suite had laten zien ging ze ons voor naar de gigantisch grote badkamer, waar ze een kacheltje had aangestoken, omdat het anders wel eens te fris kon zijn. Zo lief! We vertelden haar dat we onze 43e huwelijksdag vierden. Dat werd dus champagne buiten op het terras met heerlijke hapjes. De tafel in de dinerzaal was prachtig gedekt met smetteloos tafellinnen en mooi bestek. Het diner was verrukkelijk. We kregen een zelfgebakken taart met 4 kaarsjes erop bij het kopje koffie. Het was een dag om nooit meer te vergeten.
