Le P'Tit Bonheur

For the second year, myself, family and friends spent nights looking up at the stars, listened to owls hooting and woke to stillness in this perfect forest campsite. It is not for those who want all mod cons. The facilities are simple and adequate with very hot water in the showers and cool mountain water in the pool. We love this area and Le P'tit Bonheur campsite.

At Iast I have found a real campsite which reminded me of the hoidays of my childhood. To only see the stars at night, instead of glaring lamposts and the noise of people´s televisions, was a welcome relief! There were altogether 6 adults and 3 children in our party over the two weeks we spent there, plus our dogs. We loved everything about the campsite ; even though the washing facilities are simple, functional and not luxurious they are perfect for the needs of people who love camping! After all, the spirit of camping is about being in nature and enjoying the simple, non fussy daily routinue of being clean and eating in the open air! I would like to keep this place a secret ! I would hate it to become updated so that people who are happier in neat, compartmental pitches with sparkling washing facilities take over the places of those who really appreciate what Jean is keeping alive! Thank you Jean, we plan to come back next year, please don´t change the site!

Wonderful location for a campsite, right up in the forest in the foothills of the Pyrenees, with great walks all around. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for - simple and quiet, each pitch on its own or at most in a group of three, and with just the basic facilities so that you get right away from the fast city life. Jean Galindo, the proprietor, is a great guy and clearly cares deeply about creating a tranquil but very welcoming environment. There's no restaurant on site, but a few hundred metres from the entrance at the edge of Escaro, there's the Gite-Auberge La Trobada, where you can get a simple and tasty meal made with local produce. We weren't looking for anything posh, so were very happy with the simple amenities - even so, we felt that it may soon be time to spend a little money on the toilet/shower blocks, just to make sure that they can be kept really clean.
