Camping des Dunes

We had a wonderful time for one night. Staff very helpful, a very relaxed and unstuffy way. Views, the best we've had. Would highly recommen, but you will need an electrical adapter for your power cable. The bar is nice, and the little playground is sweet. Dogs very welcome, and are free. A great site.

This is a campsite that I would highly recommend. Went with a group of families and the reception and support we received from the staff there was excellent. Location is great, facilities A+ and will be going back.

We booked our pitch by email after making contact via France-Voyage, and the communications were helpful and informative. We arrived a little late due to ferry delays, but this was no problem and we were welcomed, booked in, and led to a great pitch by a friendly member of staff. The beach was fantastic for us, it is an immense expanse of sand when the tide is out and there were good breakers when it was in. You can have a lovely half hour stroll to Sainte-Cécile Plage where there is a good bakers and some nice places to eat. A short drive in the other direction is Étaples where there was a great market on the Tuesday of our short stay. We also enjoyed going for an early evening drink in the bar and having a family game of babyfoot. The pitches all looked to be really good, mostly individual dipped areas in the dunes (which as well as being very nice aesthetically also helped shield the tent from some of the coastal wind) and they were also all well spread out, not like a lot of sites where they cram everyone close together. The layout of the site was also really nice and labyrinthine, we were still finding new ways around after 3 nights there. The only trouble with that was that one morning the bakers van didn't get to our area, so after that we took to walking up to near the bar to meet it at 9. The only problem we had with the site was with the toilet block where there was obviously a problem with the sewers, as quite a few of the toilets were often blocked in both the men's and women's toilets This was not because of lack of trying to keep things clear by the poor woman who looked after them, who seemed to have her work cut out constantly cleaning the area and plunging the blocked loos. Maybe we just happened to go on a problem week, maybe they are usually OK, but it was quite bad and smelly at times. The showers did seem a little expensive but they worked fine and if your money ran out, and you felt brave, you could always finish off with cold water! Also the women's toilet was closed from about 10pm each night for reasons we couldn't really understand. Despite the toilet problem we would definitely go back again as it was such a fantastic location for our family, and really handy to get to from the ferry.
