Welcome to L'Hirondelle-du-Lac Chambres d'Hôtes, a charming guest house nestling at the edge of the beautiful Peyrat-le-Château lake in the heart of the Limousin, in the area known as 'the land of Mountains and Dams' (Pays des Monts et Barrages), some 45 minutes by car from Limoges. L'Hirondelle du Lac offers three beautiful individually designed double bedrooms. All rooms are en-suite. Two rooms face the lake and the third has fantastic views of the historic tower and resistance museum. Christopher and Frankie will supply you with a comfortable room, a delicious continental breakfast and a home cooked three-course dinner (table d'hôtes) on request. We want you to have a fantastic time as there is so much to see and do, but we also want you to relax. L'Hirondelle du Lac offers a beautiful terrace during summer or a pleasant salon for you to enjoy in between the many excursions you'll want to embark on.

Hosting at it's best
Great hosts and very helpful with advice on places to visit. Unfortunately didn't experience the lake on my visit as it was temporary drained.

Very pleaant and enjoyable experience.
Beautiful view over the lake, Food very good, great general hospitality. Found the bed a little bit to soft and springy and therefore uncomfortable.
Manager's reply
We are thankful for your comments although a little disapointed about the bed. We always ask if our guests have slept well & if you had told us that you did not, we maybe could of offered an alternative mattress or bed board which may of helped. All our matresses were replaced this year & your comment is the first negative we have received. Our mattresses are good quality foam, so there are actually no springs in them !! We hope that maybe you can return & enjoy a better nights sleep.

What a find! I was invited here by friends and had a marvellous time. The owners are excellent hosts, and fabulous cooks - I thoroughly reccomend you try their evening meal. The hosts gave great information about things to do in the area and ensured I made the most of my short stay in the area. Cannot wait to go again!!
