La Vallée Verte is located in the south of the Haute-Marne, at the crossroads of Champagne, Burgundy and Franche-Comté, in a small peaceful village of 75 inhabitants. The place is ideally located for a stop in the middle of a long journey or to spend a few days and discover the riches of the region. We have 5 rooms in a stately home dating from 1586. Each room has all the modern comforts (private bathroom) while preserving the traces of the past, harmoniously highlighted. The Green Valley was through the centuries the house of tax collection and then a farm of importance. You will appreciate its Burgundy stones, its large beams, its fireplaces, its rooms with large volumes and a thousand architectural details! Some peculiarities of our rooms: • 3 are located on the floors of the house. • 2 others have their independent entrance. • 1 is on the ground floor (particularly suitable for people who are embarrassed on the stairs, please let us know if necessary). • 1 bedroom allows you to come with a small pet. • 1 room with piano: musicians, bring your scores! You can also enjoy our table d'hôtes: it will be an opportunity to discover some aspects of our gastronomic heritage. The garden is designed for pleasure: meals on the terrace, reading in a sun lounger under the weeping willow, part of hide-and-seek (for young and old), visit to the hens, petanque, outdoor gymnastics: you are well at La Vallée Verte! The surrounding region is rich in natural, artistic and cultural discoveries. You will benefit from: • hiking trails through the countryside and forests (starting from home or in the National Forest Park, the latest of the national natural parks), • the ramparts of Langres 30 minutes (fortified city surrounded by the longest ramparts of France), Diderot and the Encyclopedia, museums, • lovers of history and gastronomy will appreciate the proximity of Besançon (Vauban fortress), Dijon or Beaune (Ah! the wines of Burgundy!), • but also, flea markets, traditional basketry (world capital 20 minutes away), cheeses and washhouses… - In short: • open to all, all year round - • 5 bedrooms - • breakfast included - • table d'hôtes - • wifi - • languages: French, English, German, and 1 year of Dutch! • easy parking - • close to the highway - • tourist documentation - • warm welcome
