A delightful retreat in the heart of Brittany
I have stayed in many anonymous 5* hotels that could learn a lot from this chateau. I you like unctuous superficial civilities surrounded by standard issue corporate hospitality, then stay at The Ritz and pay through the nose for your pretention. If you want real class, a sense of the unique and a truly memorable place to stay, then this is it. My 14 year old daughter could only say 'wow' and 'awesome' as we crunched our way up the long gravel drive towards the beautiful chateau. We were met by the elegant Francoise and her dapper husband, whose English puts a lot of our countrymen to shame. Our room, overlooking the manicured front courtyard, was individual, tasteful, elegant and refined. Our bed, spectacularly clean and sumptously comfortable. And the en suite and in room facilities were second to none. There was nothing I could find fault in. But beware, I suspect that this kind of unique experience can be addictive and I know we will be returning again before the year is out. My advice to my daughter was to enjoy her stay and drink in the experience because it is highly unlikely that she will ever stay anywhere quite as remarkable as this again. You have been warned!
