Visit a truffle-grower and beekeeper

We were a group of six adults and a teenager and we spent a great couple of hours learning about the bees and their hives, and the different types of truffles and the trees grown to assist in their cultivation. I was the only French speaker and found one or two of the more technical explanations a little challenging but I was able to ensure that we all understood at least 80% (I hope!) and we all found it interesting and a lovely way to spend out morning. Fantastic to taste lots of different honeys and various truffle products and of course we couldn't resist buying quite a few to bring home! Yum!!!

We visited the truffle and honey farm with friends. It was a special date because one of our number was 65 on that particular day and it was part of her birthday present surprise. The whole experience was absolutely delightful. We had also elected to have the 35 € lunch. Joel and his son Daniel couldn't have tried harder to give us a positive experience. We learned a lot about truffle growing and beekeeping and the meal was delicious - proudly and meticulously served by them both. The most striking thing about our visit was the sheer passion they both felt about truffle growing and bee keeping. One cautionary note to Brits. It really is impirtant to have some working knowledge of French - not fluent, but enough to get by because Both Joel and Daniel have almost no English. Having said that, we managed really quite well. Indeed part of the charm was helping eachother to understand what was being said. I have no doubt in thoroughly recommending this tourist activity.

We had a 2 hour introduction to the producing and tasting of honey and truffles. Both Joel and Daniel were utterly delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them despite occasional language barriers.

Merci à Joël pour sa cuisine familiale autour de la truffe et pour tous ces enseignements sur ce champignon si délicieux ! Merci à Daniel pour son miel et pour, lui aussi, ses explications ! Nous avons passé un moment culinaire et instructif " chez l'habitant" car ce n est pas un restaurant au sens usuel du mot ; même, si ces trufficulteurs peuvent recevoir bien plus nombreux car ; c est la convivialité autour de ces produits (truffe et miel) ainsi que des produits locaux (d'ailleurs nous avons fait le détour de 10 km pour aller à la cave du " Vin des tsars" que nous avons découvert chez eux !!) qui est mise en avant !. Des produits frais, préparés que pour nous …simple..Parfait ! L hiver autour de la cheminée l expérience doit être très sympathique aussi. Nous essayerons de revenir pour goûter cette fois ci la Truffe D'Hiver !

Bravo à vous !! Un repas excellent autour de la truffe. Beaucoup de gentillesse et d'attention. Des personnes très intéressantes. Visite autour de la truffe et des ruches, nous avons appris pleins de choses. C'était une excellente après midi et un beau partage ! Je recommande a 1000 %

Accueil très sympathique et visite très intéressante. Les enfants ont adoré et la photo du chien fox et accrochée dans la chambre ; -) - Nous reviendrons l'année prochaine pour faire quelques achats !! '

Un très bon accueil et un agriculteur /apiculteur qui prend le temps de nous expliquer son métier, avec passion et envie de transmettre. On a passé un excellent moment. On recommande vivement !

Leuke, interessante rondleiding met een heerlijke lunch! Heel gastvrije ontvangst, De familie Simonet zijn mensen met passie voor wat ze doen. Het zo fijn zijn als de rondleiding ook in het Engels gegeven kan worden.

Wat een mooi bedrijf! De passie straalt er vanaf! Een hele interessante rondleiding gehad en daarna meer dan lekker gegeten. Het menuutje bevat heerlijke, eerlijke producten. Eigenlijk allemaal lokaal en met een mooi verhaal. Gemaakt door een kok die er duidelijk een dot liefde aan toe voegt. Daarbij een mooi assortiment (lokale) wijnen en een gedreven gastheer die graag uitleg geeft. We hebben genoten en bevelen dit zeker aan!
