Rebuilt in the seventeenth century by the Baron d'Arros of Viven, Henry IV's companion in arms, on remains of castles that followed each other since the 9th century, the Château de Viven was "modernized" indoors at the middle of the eighteenth by the Marquis de Mesplès. The Castle and the regular garden are inscribed ismh, The Gardens, setting of the buildings dominating the valley of Luy de France, are declined in 13 different atmospheres whose theater of Greenery active since 2010. (described in the recent work on the theaters of greenery Nathalie Deguen and Marie-Caroline Thuillier, prefaced by William Christie.) - These gardens are JR labeled and are open to visitors. The outbuildings also include a theater with 80 seats, and a 100-seat auditorium. The Thèze International Chamber Music Festival, organized with the Rotterdam Chamber Music Orchestra, has been hosted here in July since 2013.
