Terr'a Safran is a family farm where we produce natural saffron at Nérigean, 15 minutes from Saint Emilion! We are also vigneron-cooperator on 30 hectares of vines for 5 generations by driving our vineyards in sustainable competition and 1000M² of saffron culture in organic farming with Ecocert. You can find a wine "Château Les Prênes" from our best parcels in our shop at the property. We have created the saffron crop since 2013 to diversify our operation. This saffron culture, also known as "red gold", is made from Crocus Sativus, which is the only flower to produce a spice in our region! We work with passion to produce a saffron with pure and delicate stigmas, 100% natural (grown without pesticides of course). Everything is done by hand, from planting to harvesting. Do not hesitate to visit us during the bloom (October-November) to discover the different stages of this local spice! We are open to groups of hikers, school or private (Free visit by appointment on weekdays or weekends). This culture is part of our history, our ancestral cooking recipes; you will find links with this spice almost forgotten, which is used more and more today, because it is an enhancer of taste unforgettable when tasted saffron madeleines for example during the tasting.
