Canoe or kayak hire in the Dordogne

We had a pleasant experience canoeing on the Dordogne. The only downside was that we hadn't realised that shuttle buses collect canoeists from their destination point back to the start only every 2 hours. So we couldn't relax or stop on the way for lunch as we'd have missed the bus and had to wait 2 hours for the next one. If we'd known this in advance, we would have chosen a canoe company that dropped off at the destination and let us paddle back at our own pace. There are also no toilets at the starting point.
