This restored mas with swimming pool is located at the outskirts of the village de Saint-André de Valborgne (437 m alt., 375 inh.) in the National Park of the Cévennes. The Cévennes region is a quaint and rugged area southwest of the Ardèche ; a sunny region where the smells of thyme, rosemary and lavender are omnipresent. While walking the numerous mountain paths, you will see eagles, falcons, buzzards and other birds of prey. You will also encounter wild orchids and eatable mushrooms. It is an oasis of peace and quiet. A place where the sound is carried by the silence.. You can reach Saint-André de Valborgne by following D709, in between Saint-Jean du Gard (30 min. drive) and Florac (40 min.) - An informative site on the Cevennes. The mas is quietly situated half way between a forested hill on a plot of 8 hectares, a few minutes walk from the village. The garden is landscaped with typical brick surrounded terraces. Behind the house, a walking path leads you to the border of the property, formed by a small river. There are no neighbours, nor passing traffic. An old silk-worm culture is the silent witness of a once flourishing industry in this area.
