The property, originally a farmhouse, was first built in the 18th century. Set in 1.75 acres of land including large garden/orchard to relax in, On the south side there are views to the Montagne Noire behind which are the Pyrenees ; to the west side are open views over the orchard towards Lautrec village. If you like bird watching this is the place to stay. To the east is our vegetable field with more fruit trees ! The gites - Gite Martinet (rated 4 stars) sleeps two and is large and spacious. It is open plan with large kitchen / living area with fridge freezer and dishwasher, mezzanine level bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. There is an additional sitting room for you to read and relax in. For winter lets the woodburning stove will keep you warm and cosy. Gite Rossignol (rated 3 stars) sleeps two or four has two bedrooms (one with a balcony). It has open plan kitchen, dining and living area and a full bathroom suite. If you book Gite Rossignol you have the use of a Home Cinema on thursday nights so why not bring your favourite dvd or choose from our collection. (If Gite Rossignol is unoccupied Gite Martinet guests may have use of the Home Cinema.) - Both gites have their own terrace and bbq areas. Places to see and activities - There are many outdoor activities nearby such as walking, cycling, fishing, golf, horse riding, sailing, swimming, canoeing. Restaurants and bars. In fact just a short stroll down the drive takes you on to a cycling and walking trail ! In the summer months, a 5 minute drive away is Aquaval, Lautrec's outdoor swimming park for all the family to enjoy. Or just take a stroll around the village of Lautrec. Castres Park Gourjade is a great day out for all ages. Take a picnic in the summer months. Albi you would love because of its famous red brick built Cathedral and of course the famous artists' Toulouse Lautrec Museum situation just behind the cathedral. In Gaillac taste the local wine. In the summer there are many wine and music festivals for you to choose from. The markets as always in France are always worth a visit and all of the above Towns and Cities have them but why not go and experience Revel Market, many of our guests have and described it "as one of the best markets in the whole of France" and its only 40 minutes away.
