Charming country cottage located in a picturesque little village called Tarquimpol, in the Pays des Etangs region (literally, the Land of the Ponds), in Lorraine. Standing in the middle of the Lindre, a 6.2 km²-pond listed nature reserve, the peninsula is well-known in the region for its natural and historical heritage: the location is particularly attractive for bird-watchers and naturalists, who come from far to admire the impressive diversity of migratory birds that stop for a rest on the Lindre pond. The one-street village formerly called Decempagi by Romans (literally, the Ten Countries) also offers interesting archaelogical remains that makes it an ideal place for History enthusiasts. Chez Berthe is a wonderful example of a traditional Lorraine house having been sucessfully transformed and renovated to create a beautiful, stylish holiday house: mosaïcs adorn the floors throughout the cottage and have been cleverly married with carefully chosen antiques to create a unique flea market look, as the hostess likes to say. Chez Berthe is also as workshop and offers various art and crafts classes (mosaïc, china painting on porcelaine or earthenware, furniture renovation/customization, pottery, ...)
