Situated in the heart of the peaceful village of Taden this quaint little granite cottage is perfectly situated to explore the medieval town of Dinan, less than 5 km away. Carefully renovated and decorated, it has retained it's charm and character with an original fireplace, and wooden floors and exposed beams throughout. Sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms this old bakery is perfect for a family holiday. On the ground floor there is a corner kitchen, dining and living area. On the first floor there are two bedrooms each sleeping two, one with two single beds and one with one double, as well as a bathroom. On the second floor there is a bedroom sleeping two in a double bed, from where you can see Taden's magnificent granite manor house. There is also a lawn where children can play in the grounds of the manor right next to the house. L'ancienne boulangerie stands next to the 14th century manor house that dominates the sleepy riverside village of Taden. The village has been well preserved and is a perfect example of a traditional Breton village, with it's granite houses, cobbled streets and quaint little church. Taden overlooks the river Rance that winds it's way through the Côtes-d'Armor creating beautiful valleys and scenery. Just a few minutes from the cottage you can escape to the river, and cycle or walk along the towpath. Taden is on the outskirts of Dinan, the place where Medieval Brittany seems most alive and most real. Behind the ramparts the old centre of town vibrates with life. The sagging, cantilevered timber fronted dwellings leaning crazily on each other still house merchants, though their trades may have changed. Rue Du Jerzual and Rue Du Petit Fort lead through one of the ancient town gates down to the Port, winding between two perfect rows of restored and protected artisans' houses. On the Port you can sit and watch the world go by from one of the riverside cafes and restaurants, take a boat trip to the old citadel port of St. Malo or hire a self drive boat and explore the delightful river Rance. The golden sandy beaches of Brittany's Emerald Coast are only half an hour's drive away. For more information visit our website: www.letriskel.co.uk.
