The location of Ar Ty Chaux is unique - set on the River Rance and on the site of a former lime kiln, the house was converted from two lime workers' cottages by its architect and artist owners. In recent years used as an art gallery, the house was designed to take advantage of the light reflecting from the river, and the superb natural setting of woodlands and meadows. The interior has been carefully planned by the owners to be stylish, modern and comfortable, with large windows to fully appreciate the beautiful views over the countryside and river. A flight of external steps lead to a stylish kitchen/dining area with large picture windows, giving superb views over the river and meadows. The kitchen is light and fully equipped with solid wood worktops and with a dining area with glass topped table seating six. Leading off the dining area is a double bedroom and a bedroom with bunk beds which is ideal for children. A third bedroom leads off the kitchen with two single beds, and large windows giving superb views to the river and countryside. Bathroom with bath, sink and WC. On the ground floor is a living area with access to the gravelled patio area and then the river and tow path. From the patio area, a short flight of steps lead to a lawned area overlooking the river, and on a slope at the side and rear of the house is a natural woodland area. Cot/High Chair/Baby Bath: We can supply these at 20 € - Parking Arrangements: Private parking for two cars is available just outside the house. End of Stay Clean: We can arrange this if required for 40 € - Ar Ty Chaux is set on the river in peaceful countryside just by the river with a riverside path leading to the pretty port of Dinan about a 5 minute stroll. There is wildlife in abundance here, with otters, deer, kingfisher and herons making regular appearances. The attractive historic port area of Dinan is quickly reached, with a good baker, a selection of popular restaurants, bistros and cafes. You can also hire boats and canoes here and the town centre can be reached easily by either walking up the (steep!) hill or taking a bus. The historic town centre of Dinan is a well preserved example of a medieval town, with a wealth of original half timbered buildings, ancient castle and impressive stone ramparts. Every two years, the town plays host to a weekend long Medieval Festival celebrating the life and culture at the time the town was built – an unforgettable experience.
