Chateau de Castelneau dates back to the fourteenth century with further additions in the seventeenth century. Castelneau is listed as a historic monument. It is located in the heart of the wine growing Entre deux Mers region of South West France, midway between the Dordogne and Garonne, 10 km south of St. Emilion and 15 km north of the Sauternes wine region. Castelneau is fortified with four towers around a square courtyard and consists of several main buildings. The mansion at Castelneau is built around the corner tower. The interior is decorated with refinement, old family furniture, warm colors, contemporary and comfortable seating. It will suit lovers of old stonework in search of peace and quiet, magnificent views and an authentic past. There is also a swimming pool with magnificent views over the vines. Description of the Mansion: 7 main rooms about 250 m ² on 2 levels. The house if full of original features including terracotta flooring and exposed beams upstairs. The large kitchen is equipped with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer. The kitchen table seats 10. There is also a Formal dining room seating up to 18 guests. The Living measures 40 m with large fireplace. Wooden staircases lead upstairs to the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. As Castelneau is a wine producing Chateau, tours of the cellars and tastings are available by arrangements with the owners.
