Molles, 685 Route des Briquetiers - Montpezat-de-Quercy

Welcome to La Ferme à Molles – a haven of peace and tranquillity, set in 30 acres of beautiful countryside only 3 km from the medieval village of Montpezat de Quercy that lies in the heart of South-West France. Here you can unwind by the pool or in the garden or go and explore the area, try out the restaurants or sample the local fruity wines (Vins de Quercy) which have recently been granted aoc status or other wines from Cahors, Gaillac or Fronton. For nature lovers here at Molles we have an orchid meadow that flowers in the Spring, golden orioles, bee-eaters, black redstarts, buzzards, kites and a multitude of colourful butterflies that visit in the summer and with roe deer, wild boar, red squirrels and martins to be found in the forest all year round when you try out the many walks in the area. Montpezat de Quercy with its ancient houses, ramparts and 14thC Collegiale, boasts 4 restaurants and a cafe that cater for those who want just a snack to those who enjoy fine dining. There are also a range of shops (including an excellent baker) and a small supermarket with larger supermarkets to be found in Caussade just15 minutes away. There is so much to see and savour within a short distance from us, such as France's favourite village – St Cirq Lapopie, the caves at Pech-Merle, the Romanesque cloisters at St Peter's Abbey in Moissac, the various pigeonniers and gariottes (stone shelters for shepherds) to be seen almost everywhere on the Causse de Quercy (limestone plateau), the unesco world Heritage site around the cathedral and Toulouse-Lautrec museum in Albi, the food markets at Caussade, St-Antonin-Noble-Val and Montcuq, the black truffles found around Lalbenque with its famous truffle market every Tuesday between November and February, the deep 'black' wines of Cahors and the many village festivals where you can soak up the atmosphere by joining the local people for a meal served al fresco on long trestle tables.

Nice and peacefull stay
The environment and location was beautifull, we had a chance to be invited to a village street festival which was excellent. All people was friendly. Suzane and Roger Mortimer was great to us and our children, we felt we become more like family members than just guests. The close vicinity of Albi and Toulouse is a beneft for those who like heritage cities (Albi) or modern musemus (Museé de l Espace in Toulouse).

Molles ticks all the boxes..
Our stay at Molles was simply amazing. We cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation, friendly and welcoming owners, Sue & Roger, and their marvelous menagerie of friendly animals. The Farmhouse and Stables cottage are spacious and luxurious, with tasteful decoration throughout. Both had well equipped kitchens and barbeques were available for the Al-fresco dining that the climate and local produce so encourage. The Local area is rich in history and natural beauty. In particular Cahors(30 km) is a gem of a town and offers all the shopping options you will need. Further afield the Bastide(fortified) towns and Albi are stunning too. For the more energetic, walks in the woods nearby, cycling and kayaking on the local rivers are all easy options. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Thanks again to Roger & Sue.
