At the bottom of the Vosges massif, the 170-kilometre long Wine Trail is an excellent way to discover Alsace and its traditions. This prestigious road, going from Marlenheim (Bas-Rhin) to Thann (Haut-Rhin), is indeed lined with charming floral villages, wine cellars, good inns, authentic winstubs (typical Alsatian restaurants) and numerous castles. The vineyards can also be explored on foot along pretty dedicated footpaths introducing visitors to the various grape varieties and wine-making techniques.

The Wine Trail in the Bas-Rhin goes from Marlenheim to Kintzheim and offers beautiful landscapes of hills covered with vineyards. This road also allows discovering lovely villages:

   Scherwiller and its charming washhouses decorating the banks of the Aubach river;

   Dambach-la-Ville, a medieval town with colourful houses and half-timberings;

   Andlau and its Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul abbey church;

   Mittelbergheim and its Renaissance houses.

The wine is celebrated during numerous wine festivities and fairs taking place in Dambach-la-Ville, Mittelbergheim, Andlau and Obernai.
