Covering three regions (Franche-Comté, Lorraine, Alsace) and four départements (the Haute-Saône, the Vosges, the Territoire de Belfort, the Haut-Rhin), this park extends over 3000 km². The Vosge massif offers series of landscapes such as mountains, ballons with round peaks, and high pastures. The highest summit of this magnificent protected area is in the Haut-Rhin at the Grand Ballon (1,424 metres high).
