The Town of Art and History of Vitré has preserved the rich architectural heritage of its medieval past, as illustrated by the imposing fortified castle, the ramparts and the numerous very picturesque old timber-framed houses of the En-Bas street, the Baudrairie street and the Poterie street. The old-world charm of this medieval town makes it a lovely place to wander round.
