Royal city, Vincennes is famous for its castle. Founded in the 12th century, the Château de Vincennes comprises a surrounding wall flanked by nine towers, pavilions, a 50-metre high medieval keep and a Flamboyant Gothic Holy Chapel (Sainte-Chapelle). Walking enthusiasts will be pleased as the town is located close to the Bois de Vincennes forest.
