City of Art and History, Vendôme is also a health resort with many assets. The feudal castle dominating the old town, the canals of the Loir River lined with beautiful houses and numerous bridges give the town undeniable charm. Ronsard park situated by the river is a quiet, shaded and romantic place with its bridge and its old lavoir (communal laundry washing place). Vendôme also possesses a remarkable religious building, the Trinity abbey: the abbey church and its late Gothic facade, the stalls of the chancel and the isolated Romanesque bell tower are some of the features not to be missed. Saint-Martin square and its old houses, and Change street and its shops are also worth a visit. In summer, boat tours on the Loir River are available.

On the hills above Vendôme, the château estate, which extends over 6 hectares, is great to wander around and offers walkers a beautiful view of the town.
