City of Art and History, Vendôme is also a health resort with many assets. The feudal castle overhanging the old town, the canals of the River Loir lined with beautiful houses and numerous bridges confer an undeniable charm to the city. The Ronsard park situated by the river is a quiet, shaded and romantic place with its bridge and its old laundry. Vendôme also possesses a remarkable religious building, the Trinity abbey: the abbey church and its late Gothic facade, the stalls of the choir and the isolated Romanesque bell tower are some of the features not to be missed. The Saint-Martin square and its old houses, the Change street and its shops are also part of the visit of the city. In summer, boat tours on the River Loir are offered to the visitors.
