The Ussé castle, with its fortified towers, its turrets and its pinnacles, looks like a fairy tale castle. This magnificent castle, which arouses dreaming to kids and adults, would have inspired Charles Perrault for its famous children tale, Sleeping Beauty (La Belle au bois dormant). Built in the 15th and 16th centuries, and situated in Rigny-Ussé, the Ussé castle is always inhabited and is open to the public from February until November. To discover during the visit: its furniture, its Flemish tapestries and its familial souvenirs, but also its remarkable Renaissance chapel and its terrace gardens drawn by Le Nôtre. At the covered way level, children can admire the figures of the Sleeping Beauty tale. | LOCALISATION IN INDRE-ET-LOIRE | | | |
