The Upper Languedoc Regional Nature Park (Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc ), located at one end of the Massif Central extends over 260,000 hectares and covers two départements: the Tarn and the Hérault.
The section in the Tarn contains some unusual places and varied landscapes: granite blocks carved by erosion in Sidobre, a lake plateau where water activities are on offer, the Lacaune mountains and the fir, beech and oak forests of the Black Mountain (Montagne Noire). This protected area, reaching 1,267 metres at its highest point, offers both natural places of interest and sports activities like hiking.
