The highest place of the park is the Crêt de la Neige peak at 1720 metres in the Ain département. Magnificent landscapes of mountains, rivers, waterfalls, alpages meadows, forests and villages succeed one another for the happiness of nature lovers and hiking fans. In the Jura, the Flumen gorges between Saint-Claude and Septmoncel; the Chapeau de Gendarme, a natural curiosity made of limestone layers shaped as a gendarme hat; the magnificent Lamoura lake and the Les Rousses ski resort, are amongst the places to be discovered. During a stay in the Upper Jura massif, the visitors can also attend the manufacture of the Jura cheeses, such as comté and morbier, in the numerous cheese dairies disseminated on this area.
